Mansplainer by Avery Flynn

Avery Flynn is a master at crafting a fun, lighthearted and funny romcom. I always know when I pick up one of her novels I am going to be throughly entertained. Mansplainer is the final novel in her Last Man Standing trilogy that all hinges on a bet between three cousins to not fall in love after 6 dates in order to get the very last present that their grandmother has left before she passed (prior to the novels starting). Flynn has created a fun through plot line to interlink these novels as well as a compelling family at the heart that make these novels a great series to read in order. I have throughly enjoyed all these novels and found this to be a delightful conclusion to the series.

Beckett is currently the last cousin standing and he just needs to not fall in love before Christmas to official win the bet, so in order to try and stay out of love he enters into a marriage of convenience with Chelle. They both know that this marriage has an end date in 6 months and neither is looking for love. But of course when these two start to date sparks will fly and both question if they truly wish for this marriage to have an end date.

This is just a fun and entertaining read, perfect for a low angst and charming read. Chelle is a fun heroine she is in her early forties, she loves to read and has been secretly working on several novels. Beckett might seem like an ultimate playboy who refuses to settle down but watching his attraction for Chelle grow is endearing and watching the care he gives he is wonderful. Avery Flynn also knows how to build great sensual chemistry between her characters and as these two explore a more physical side they have a great layer of heat that I have come to expect in a Flynn novel. I also really love that all Flynn's series at the heart of them have strong families and familial relationships that the hero and heroine can build a support system from.

If you are looking for some great summer reads definitely check out the Last Man Standing series! This series, while you can read as standalones, works much better in order so you can follow the through bet plot line to it's conclusion. Avery Flynn is a definite must read for a quick paced, delightfully funny and charmingly sensual romance!
