Take a Chance with Me by Kristen Proby

I really enjoyed this novel, it is a fun and quick paced read that features a charming and delightful family who we have been with for the past five novels. Kristen Proby's writing has a comfort to it for me, I know exactly what I will be getting with it and I love being in her world and with her characters. Proby's writing is accessible, well paced and full of love and family. I love that at the heart of each novel Proby center's family and friends. Proby knows how to perfectly balance a romantic relationship with the support and help from family and friends to create a health balance between the hero and heroine with their new budding relationship and with the things they find most important in live.

We have been teased with this romance for the past fine novels and I know that I have been strongly awaiting Maggie and Cameron's romance. Cameron has been and honorary O'Callaghans' son and best friend to the oldest. Maggie has loved Cameron from afar for many years. Over the course of their relationship they have had their ups and downs and in this novel they are finally able to take charge of their feelings and explore the possibilities of a future while working through the burdens of the past.

I love that his brother's best friend romance is not bogged down with the fact that Cameron wants to be in a relationship with this best friend's younger sister. Rather all the O'Callaghans are finally excited that Cam is ready to finally embrace his feelings. The support and love that the O'Callaghans have for Cam is truly beautiful, they know he is a wonderful man and that he will take care of Maggie. I love that Cam and Maggie don't wallow in the past, rather they both decide that their time is now and they swiftly embrace that. Cam is able to quietly support Maggie as she works through the last steps she must take in working past her abusive marriage (which ended 2 years ago with her husbands death). I love that Cam does not overstep Maggie, he gives her the space she needs to deal with everything in her own time and way. I love that Maggie sees Cam as a partner, who has their best interests at heart. I think Cam and Maggie help to balance each other, Cam learns that their is more important things in life that work and Maggie sees that she should put herself first. Their romance is sweet and sensual, the steam level is pretty moderate for a contemporary romance but Proby strikes the perfect balance in accordance with the novels tone and length.

Definitely pick up this book and all the books in this series if you love a sweet and sensual contemporary. If you love a romance that is balanced and supported by family and friends, Kristen Proby is a great author to explore with her vast back list of With Me in Seattle novels (and various other series) that all have family, friendship and love at the heart. I can not wait for the second generation love stories that Proby is currently working on!
