Forsaken Oath by Penelope Black

Penelope Black has certainly solidified her status as a must read author in my eyes with her newest release-Forsaken Oath! This second installment in the Avalon Falls has the perfect balance of romance, thrill and danger that plays well within a small town setting. Black's writing has a layer of adventure and charm that works perfectly this high speed race of a romance. Black also does a wonderful job in the crafting of her characters, they are complex and relatable, so rooting for their romance or feeling a kinship to secondary characters comes extremely easy. Forsaken Oath is the perfect romance if you are looking for a hero who is so taken with the heroine, and a heroine who is strong and independent and will do anything for her sisters.

Eloise and Beau are absolutely perfect for the other. I love that their chemistry pulls Eloise out of her safety zone and she begins to put herself first more often. I love that Beau sees Eloise as this strong woman who does not need a man, but he wants to be there for her and to support her. These two have many delightful chance meetings with each other and they way they build their relationship feels organic and fated in many ways. I love that Black does a really wonderful job of balancing Eloise and Beau's families and the dynamics that they play with in them. I love that Beau and Eloise let their attraction and intense chemistry guide them forward to take a chance on the other, and in the end it is so magical and beautiful. Their relationship is not about give and take but support and trust, and that is truly a beautiful thing to witness!

I so very highly recommend this novel and series. Each book has been pure delight and I am extremely excited to see where Penelope Black will continue to drive this series. Each novel so far has felt very unique to itself with the inner connection of the Carter family which is absolutely wonderful and extremely engaging to make each romance feel epic in its own way!

Thank you so much to Valentine PR for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
