My Silver Lining by Laura Pavlov

Writer: Jocelyne FowlerJocelyne Fowler

Laura Pavlov does it again! Her newest installment in the Rosewood River series is fake relationship, small town perfection! I also know when I start a Pavlov book I am going to be utterly taken with her characters and their romantic journey. A Silver Lining does not disappoint, and is such a delightful branch off from Pavlov’s Magnolia Falls series because we are still getting glimpses of much loved characters. Pavlov’s writing is comforting, conversational and caring, a wonderful balance for a clear and engaging romance that will sweep the reader into a foray of emotions and experience falling deeply in love with someone your respect.

Lulu is in Rosewood River as just a rest bit before the next chapter of her life and her dream career in Paris. Rafe is a family man who loves his small town community but wants to be taken seriously with his job and career. These two are both living on Rafe’s brother’s estate, and as they get to know each other they see that they might be the perfect solution to their woes. These two expect to just enter into a friendly relationship but as they get to know each other their relationship easily deepens. The situations of this novel are simple and straightforward and what makes it a great novel are the deliciously rich characters and the emotional journey that Pavlov brings to life with the ease of a well versed author. Lulu and Rafe’s journey to romance has this sensual sizzling undertone of chemistry that blurs the lines of their fake relationship. The touching actions and kindness that Rafe demonstrates to Lulu help her to grow more confident in herself. This novel is about two people taking the time to build a friendship, build trust and understanding. This novel is about two people not being afraid to risk their hearts and fight for their dreams. I loved watching these two fall head over heels, I loved the support they give each other, I love the sacrifices, I love the care and I love that they are able to communicate clearly with the other.

Laura Pavlov is a must read author for me! I would so highly recommend her work, you are sure to fall for her characters and the world around them. Pavlov’s novels are easily read as standalone and enriched when read in order as you will fall deeper and deeper in love with the community that Pavlov builds.

Thank you so much to Valentine PR for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
