Into the Tide by Laura Pavlov

A best friend's little sister, work place, small town romance is right up my alley and Laura Pavlov's Into the Tide is a beautiful and heartfelt example of these tropes in their prime. Pavlov's first book in the Cottonwood Cove series is sensual, sexy and fun. Pavlov's writing is charming, her characters are real and relatable, the pacing of this novel is on point and this is just a truly lovely introduction to a new series and lots of exciting new characters to hope for. If you love a small town romance with a touch of the forbidden, than this is a wonderful place to start. Laura Pavlov is definitely worth checking out and has a great backlist to explore.

Lila is a smart, ambitious and kind hearted young woman. She is five years younger than Hugh, the hero, who is a hard work, family man, and beyond loyal. These two have orbited each other for years because Lila is Hugh's best friend's little sister, but now that she is back from college, her beauty and maturity have many moments to shine through. I really love the way that Pavlov uses their new found attraction to build up tension as they are also building the foundations of a solid friendship. I love that we see that both the hero and heroine are very capable on their own, but when they work and support each other they are able to do bigger and better things. This novel is sexy, smart and shows the building of a strong and healthy relationship. Their are outside factors that challenge the hero and heroine separately and together and watching these two support each other is gratifying. Pavlov also uses their physical relationship to beautifully represent their trust and understanding of each other, and I just really loved watching these two get their HEA.

I would definitely highly recommend Laura Pavlov and this novel. I think it is a beautiful place to start with Pavlov's work and will leave you longing and excited for future stories!
