The One I Hate by Chelle Sloan

Chelle Sloan has taken the hate-to-love, second chance, he falls first troupes and worked magic! I fell in love with this story from the first page and watching the way this romance slowly unfolded was the perfect rollercoaster of emotions to make me root for this couples happily ever after. Sloan’s writing is clear and engaging, she dips into the past in brief and important moments as she leaves her readers in the same unknown as her characters. Her characters are well developed and easy to understand. And the world of friendship and support that surrounds this series is beautiful and endearing creating a strong and lovable series from book one!

Simon and Charlie are two people who missed the opportunity at a romance during their college years and now fifteen years later find themselves back in each other’s orbit. Charlie is a strong and independent heroine who is a hard worker and chasing after her dream to open her own diner. Simon is a goofy and at times intense hero, whose intentions are always meant well. The longing, hate and misunderstandings that start this novel off are the perfect mix to draw the reader into the story and the dynamic characters and chemistry will keep them turning page after page! Simon might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I think Sloan brings him to live and shows us that deep down past his jokester attitude is a heart of gold. Simon’s actions speak louder than his words and it is obvious from the beginning that Charlie is the only woman for him! Charlie is a plus size heroine and Sloan does a wonderful job creating her character, showing that yes she can be both confident and still have some deep down insecurities about her body, but she knows that she is worthy of love and Simon is the perfect hero to show her that all aspects of her are beautiful!

I adored this love story. The chemistry is off the charts. The romance is beyond swoon worthy. The characters are wonderful and their love story is sublime! I so highly recommend this novel and this series by Sloan, and I cannot wait for the spin off series featuring Simon’s sisters!

Thank you so much to Valentine PR for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
