Kaylee Ryan gifts us with a beautiful new series in true Ryan style! Make the Play is sweet, sensual and such a delightful start to a series that is sure to be a new favorite to any romance lover who enjoys a strong brotherhood at its center. Kaylee Ryan is definitely a comfort author for me, I know I am going to enjoy her writing, and I know it is going to leave me happy and contented. Ryan’s writing is conversational and relatable, her characters feel natural and friendly, and her words wrap around me like a soft hug. Make the Play is a lovely start to a new series with a group of footballer friends at its core. This novel is everything I could hope it would be and left me excited for the growth of this series!
Corie and Knox find themselves entangled in this dance of desires when Corie comes back from school and starts a new job with the Rampage, the football team that Knox and her brother play for. This brother’s best friend, secret relationship is truly a delight and so softly swoon worthy. I loved watching the intense chemistry between these two explode into a need they can’t ignore. I love that their relationship progresses physically at a pace that works for them as they explore their feelings and learn to understand each other. I also adore the way that their relationship affected the way they approached the world and other people are able to see the positive effect they are having on each other without knowing who has caused the change. I was so charmed by Knox who is all in from the beginning and see their relationship as a partnership in which all their decisions are made together and the decision is something he will always take accountability for. This romance is sweetly sexy, low angst, and deals with the “secret” and brother relationship in a refreshing and clear way.
I will never not recommend Kaylee Ryan! This novel was a true delight and definitely worth the read! Pick up this brother’s best friend, secret relationship, football romance today to revel in the sweet romance of true love!
