Blushing's second installment–Love You, Mean It, is small town, forced-proximity, single father romance delight! Laura Pavlov's Blushing, Alaska series has been an absolute joy in my eye, there is a comforting lightness to the charm of this town and its residence that feels like coming home! Pavlov's writing is well paced, the banter flies, and the chemistry sizzles. Pavlov does a wonderful job bringing to life this Alaskan small town, from page one you will easily fall into this world as Pavlov brings it richly to life.
Love You, Mean It starts were the last novel left off, and this time it is Charles and Violet's time to fall in love. These two are absolute live wires, sparking off each other in every moment. They test and drive each other crazy with every interaction, but it is definitely clear to the reader and residence of this town that these two are just fighting their undeniable attraction. This novel is so fun, as Violet invades Charley and Hadley's life, she finds a true home and place to belong. The support and care that Violet has in her friends is beautiful and enriching, proving that a true sisterhood is what every woman needs. The love, and devotion that Charley has towards Hadley, even though he grow up in the foster system, shows that being a good parent is about showing up and always showing your support. I loved watching Violet fall for Hadley, who is this delightful seven year old who shows her what it means to love someone as your own. I love that this romance is really built on the foundation of respect and understanding, and in the small and resilient moments between Violet and Charles.
Love You, Mean It was truly a romance that I fell head over heels for. I would so highly recommend this novel and Laura Pavlov, she has never stirred me wrong, and I love being in this Alaskan town.
