Book Review
Mistletoe and Mine is equal parts sweet and spicy and the perfect holiday treat! J.R. Jenner's writing is engaging, lighthearted and fun. Perfectly tempered to create this small English town holiday, where Christmas is a big draw and celebration for those around. Jenner's novel is perfect for anyone who adores a Hallmark Christmas movie but wants more spice and sensuality. Mistletoe and Mine was the perfect way to spend a weekend afternoon, cozied up on the couch with the fireplace going. Jenner's novel features characters in their late thirties giving this romance a lovely level of maturity that I could relate to and really enjoy.
This novel has a bit of early anomosity between the hero and heroine as they both believe the other hates them and not realizing they are both super attached to the other. This novel has wonderful body representation, both hero and heroine are in larger bodies and Jenner handles this with care and understanding in such a beautiful way. This novel also has the humor and charm of a meddlesome grandmother and daughter whose Christmas wish is for the hero and heroine to finally get together. Sasha, our grinch of a heroine, is having a hard time mustering up the holiday spirit as she is overworked and worried about the survival of her year round Christmas shop her grandmother left her. Sebastian is a single dad who is not looking for a relationship and wants to keep his grandmother off his back. So these two enter into a sizzling fake dating romance, where they both get better insight into the other and their attractions fly. I love the sweet and soft way these two finally fall for each other. I love watching Sebastian show Sasha the magic of Christmas again. I love the way these two take things at their pace, learn how to communicate, and find ways to always be on the same page.
Mistletoe and Mine is the perfect Holiday romance if you love your romances to be sweet and sexy! J.R. Jenner is definitely an author worth checking out and I am so delighted to continue to watch her writing grow!
Thank you so much to J.R. Jenner for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
