Book Review

Reckless Love is utterly sweet, deliciously romantic and cozy with comfort! This third installment in Willow Aster's The Single Dad Playbook is such a beautiful friends to lovers story that makes you believe that it can be all about the timing when it comes to finally taking a leap. Aster's writing is delightful-full of humor and heart. Her characters are relatable and people I want to know. This novel is well paced, walking the reader through the development of the couples friendship, to this new stage in their lives through the use of flashback story telling. This novel really felt like a ray of warmth, the central romance is one that is so easy to root for, the male camaraderie and friendship is hopeful, and the blending of families and the people you surround yourself with gives a perfect found family feel to this romance series.

Rhodes and Elle are best friends and have been from the moment they met in college. Live has taken them through ups and downs, Rhodes is a single dad, Elle has been influenced by her religious parents into failed relationships, but what has always held true is that Rhodes and Elle are two souls you were made for the other. This romance really explores the richness of their friendship, the depth of their love and the scary decision to broaden their relationship. This romance also has some really wonderful side characters that enrich this story. I loved Rhodes' celebrity parents who adore Elle from first meeting and see that she and Rhodes are meant for each other. I love Elle's relationship with Rhodes' son and how she does not try to be his mother but his friend and confidant when needed. I love the footballers in the single dad group who are always there for each other, can provide solid insight as well as a safe place to just be yourself. Then there is the rich, understanding and trust that Rhodes and Elle have for each other that truly provides the foundation of their relationship. These two are fun and playful together. It is clear that they have been in love with each other for a long time, but that they just need that push to deepen their relationship. And what a lovely and sensual relationship that is!

I so highly recommend this novel and all the others in this series! Willow Aster is an author that I will always pick up and would highly encourage you to do the same!
