Courtney McCaskill continues to cement herself as a must read author for me! I adore her tone and the way she gracefully weaves together her words. Scoundrel for Sale is a charming, sensual and sweet novella, that serves as a perfect introduction to McCaskill’s writing or provides a lovely story for those of us waiting for her next full length novel. Part of the Wicked Widow’s League this novella can easily be read as a stand-alone and is a charming companion to the novella’s in this series that are all written by beloved indie historical romance authors!
Courtney McCaskill quickly draws the reader in on page one and perfectly paced this novel so it can easily be read in one sitting. I loved the premise of this novel, the hero must auction one night with himself in order to pay off inherited debt. McCaskill then adds the delicious lay of this being a brother’s best friend romance and some unrequited love. This novel is deliciously plotted with the romance at the center with a bit of mystery and intrigue which help to provide both hero and heroine with what they need in order to be together. McCaskill uses a rich chemistry and sensuality between the hero and heroine which shows the reader that they already have an inherit trust and understanding of the other. Their relationship is then able to further bloom as their true feelings arise to the surface. The heroine is absolute perfection as she never gives up on what she wants and she is bold in her ways in showing the hero the perfect path for them both.
If you are looking for a charming evening read than look no further than this novel! McCaskill is sure to delight you with this novella!
