Text Appeal is the ultimate modern day romance where an old phone number leads to fake dating. Kylie Scott's writing is one that I always find easy to engage with, her tone is familiar and her dialogue sparks with quips, humor and fun. Scott's characters are interesting and clever, and the banter and dynamics between the hero and heroine truly drive the romance. Text Appeal is a fun and quick read, perfect for a modern day romance lover looking for an enchanting escape from the real world.
Riley and Connor find themselves entering into a fake dating relationship when Riley gets Connor's old phone number and is called out by Connor's on-again, off-again high school sweetheart. This novel is charming and delightful. Riley is new to this small town, she is a romance writer, and she falls into this relationship with Connor in order to spark the entire town into trusting that Connor's old relationship is truly dead. These two are so fun together, they bond and challenge each other each step of the way and their friendly banter soon turns into something much more spicy. I loved watching Riley and Connor build this friendship with each other while learning what their attraction means and keeping the town and Connor's family in order.
This is a quick romance where the falling in love happens quickly but the feelings and situations are exciting and deep. Kylie Scott is definitely a go to author for me and I am always easy charmed and enchanted with her works and Text Appeal is another lovely addition to her backlog.
