Worth the Wait by Karla Sorensen

I found this second chance, small town romance to be such a beautiful addition to the Love at First Sight series. Karla Sorensen's writing is well crafted, well paced and the world and characters come so beautifully to life. Sorensen knows how to easily draw the reader in and keep them along for the ride. Her writing is sensual and sweet and she is able to balance comedy and struggle in a way that feels authentic to not only the characters but to real life situations as well. If you have not read a Karla Sorensen I would so highly recommend checking her out, you will not be disappointed.

Iris and Hunter were each other's first loves but Iris asked Hunter to leave 12 years ago to protect her heart and to protect him from her mother. Hunter has always loved Iris and his heart has only truly belonged to her, even though he tried to move on in Seattle. Now he is back to the small town his family lives in and where he and Iris fell head over heels for each other. Iris is now the guardian of her ten year old brother and Hunter is his summer school mentor. Iris and Hunter now find themselves in each other's orbits and Hunter is ready to fight for the love he gave up so many years ago, with the help of some meddling women in this small town these two might finally have a chance at happily ever after.

This book is an absolute delight. I love a hero falls first and a hero who is so totally dedicated to his heroine. Hunter does not disappoint, as soon as he lays his eyes on Iris again, he knows he will never walk away again. But this does not mean everything is all roses. I love that Sorensen shows Hunter through his ups and downs, she shows that he is dedicated to Iris and will find a way to give her the space she needs, while he also learns from others what it means to truly fight for the person you love. I found Hunter to be the perfect hero for Iris, he was able to respect her boundaries but also learn when the right time to ask for more was while being respectful of her. Iris is a strong and smart woman, she works very hard, she loves very strong, and she learns to open herself more completely up to love and that asking for help is not a burden on someone who loves you. Iris is able to learn to embrace the job and happiness in life and to ask for more and to find comfort and strength in making a family around yourself. This novel is sweetly sensual, these two have a beautiful chemistry build off of a relationship from their youth and feelings that have only grown and deepened with time.

This second chance romance beautiful rebuilds a relationship between two people who are perfectly balanced for the other. Sorensen does a head over heels romance beautifully and this is definitely not to be missed. This book can be read as a standalone but you will definitely want the other stories in this series as well!

Thank you so much to Smartypants Romance for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
