Book Review

The Windy Harbor series just keeps getting better and better! Willow Aster is in her element as she continues to flesh out this family centered series. Aster's writing holds humor and heart, with the complexities of being a human with complicated family issues. This novel is delightfully paced, evocatively drawn, and romantically elegant. Aster's characters absolutely sparkle and will leave you with a renewed hope in humanity and the world at large!

Dylan and Dahlia's happenstance of a meeting kicks this novel off with the perfect spark of humor and concern. Seeing these two from page one because such a strong orbit to the other is deliciously sensual, and their chemistry just bounces off the charts. Aster then truly doubles down on the family elements of this story, because Dahlia is a single mom trying to co-parent with an ex who is starting to demand a relationship, with a complicated relationship with her father, and a few other unexpected elements. Dahlia then experiences and sees a totally different family dynamic in the way Dylan and his family interact and support each other. This novel really explores the growth of a relationship and the confidence to reach for the type of family you want and deserve. I adored the head over heels aspect of Dylan and Dahlia's relationship, I love that Dylan is absolutely all in from the moment he lays eyes on her. I love that Dylan forms this immediate bond with Chloe (Dahlia's daughter), and Chloe feels seen, loved and respected.

This novel had absolutely everything I wanted and expected! Willow Aster is a most read author for me and I would highly encourage you to add her to your TBR if you have not done so already.

Thank you so much to Valentine PR for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
