Kat Singleton's second installment in the Pembroke Hills series is a slow burn romance that sparkles with tension, misunderstanding and the glitter of wealth. Singleton's writing is light and fun and peppers in wit, humor and chemistry to easily ensnare her readers in a delightful escape. Bad for Business is a feel good romance, with well developed characters and the charm of New England wealth and picturesque charm of the Hamptons. Singleton is one of those author's I know will also charm and delight me and I will be swept away into the sweetness of her romances!
Camille and Ryker have a one night stand past and misconceptions that create a tension in this new business relationship they find themselves in. Camille works in PR and her father's firm is hired by Ryker's father's business to improve Ryker's image with their board so he can take over. These two have a power struggle as they work together to try to each succeed in their own goal. This romance focuses on the growth of both these people into their full potential, learning what they need out of life, and learning the truths of their feelings for the other. Singleton speaks to everything I love when she features a "sick bed"/caregiver moment to better develop the relationship between these two strong willed and independent people. Ryker and Camille, through the power of forced proximity, fight chemistry and temptation.
Bad for Business is a lovely escape and a must read for any Kat Singleton fan! Get swept away into this Hamptons romance that is a wonderful escape from the world around us.
