Book Review

Beyond the Blue Horizon is absolute magic. A.L. Jackson is in her element, and each new edition to the in Moonlit Ridge series proves that found family and morally gray men make the absolute perfect place to find home! Jackson’s writing is lyrical and evocative, her words bring this small town series vividly to life. Her characters are deeply relatable, humanly flawed, and beautifully resilient. A true understanding of the gravity, uniqueness and beauty of love is crystal clear in Jackson’s works and Beyond the Blue Horizon is another amazing example of why Jackson is a must read author in my eyes.

This novel is the romance between Theo and Piper and her son Finn. This novel is about finding a safe haven, finding your true home, and finding trust and friendship in others. The chemistry, tension and banter between Theo and Piper is top tier! These two immediately recognize something in each other’s souls, but it is their own fear and self preservation that keeps the push and pull between them. I adored that these two are basically full in before they even admit it to themselves. I love that they learn to open up and talk to each other when uncertainties arise. I love the way Finn falls for Theo, I love the way Theo’s family embraces Piper and Finn and fold them in so effortlessly into their world. I love that Nelly, Piper’s grandmother, is her champion and knows how to test and push her out of her comfort zone and find the strength to make a change. Theo and Piper fall in love during the soft moments of true interaction and feeling seen. They fall in love as they experience trust and understanding. They fall in love as they recognize they have found their forever home.

A.L. Jackson beautifully weaves together words and moments to create beautifully elegant emotions that are so believable and magical that you will believe in true love. Jackson is absolutely a must read author. Beyond the Blue Horizon is a must read book (and one I think reads best in series order to truly understand this found family).
