Devney Perry charms with her newest release, Bluebird Gold! Perry embraces the past, and brings to life this cozy and well paced romantic suspense that will make you remembered the 1980s with fondness and nostalgia. Perry’s writing is full of her natural charm as she brings this small town romance to life with characters who feel like friends, tension that comes with the times and the uncertainty of the world when you were not always carrying a cell phone, and hazy of a slower pace of small town life. Bluebird Gold will wrap you up in a 80s hug and keep you turning the pages as you watch love overcome greed.

Cosy and Ilsa are a perfect match in this single father/sheriff and new in town teacher romance. Their relationship is built out of attraction, banter, and the pull to protect. It is through the softer moments that respect and understanding is built. I loved watching Ilsa find her footing as a teacher, loving the kids she is able to make a difference in their lives and standing up for providing them with the best education she can. There is such a beautiful heart in the way she builds a relationship with Cody’s son and encourages him to always live up to his greatest potential. I adored as forced proximity and a powerful protectiveness brings Cosy to his knees to make sure Ilsa is save at all costs. The mystery of hidden treasure is also a wonderful details that brings this little family closer together as they uncover the mysteries and clues Ilsa’s father has left for her.

Is you adore the 80s and need a bit of escape from our current world, Bluebird Gold was a wonderful way to spend the day! Devney Perry is ALWAYS a must read for me and this novel hit all the spots for me!
