Dear Rosie by S.J. Tilly

I LOVED this book! S.J. Tilly has solidified herself as an author I am always going to seek and pick up this her Love Letter’s series. This series is a short one, just two books and a prequel novella for the first novel, and I fell head over heels for each installment! Tilly’s writing is fast paced, sexy and romantic, engaging and clear. She beautifully creates characters that are complicated and relatable. Tilly also has a really lovely way of gripping the reader from page one and keeping us turning the pages. Dear Rosie, is a beautiful story of two people getting a second chance at being the other person’s person. This novel is written with such care and understanding, with an interweaving of humor and heart, and you are sure to be left with a heart full and content with this beautiful novel and series.

Rosie and Nathan are two soul mates who were best friends in their youth but when Nathan moves away and he leaves the wrong mailing address for how to reach him, these two drift apart. Rosie grows up with a horrible father, content warning for abuse, after her mother died when she was very young, and Nathan has always been a safe place for her even after he was gone. 25 years pass before they meet again, and with this reunion their romance takes full flight!

Tilly has such a wonderful handle on who her characters are, how they perfectly fit together, and how as their romantic relationship builds there still needs to be this level of uncertainty from Rosie because of her past. I love that even thought Rosie’s father tried to tear her down, it is very obvious that she is so strong and so independent. I love that Nathan sees Rosie’s strength and just wants to be there to support her, care for her, and show her it is alright to put your trust in someone who cares for you. Rosie knows she is worthy and with Nathan’s help she is able to fully embrace this and grow even more into the beautiful woman she is. I really loved that this novel feels more mature, both Rosie and Nathan have lived a certain type of life before they are reunited and not they are more fully themselves as adults with clear dreams and careers that are built outside the fantasy of being a football star and they both are their own bosses. I love that these two have a sizzling chemistry with each other but that they also feel comfortable together and that even though they were apart for so long their souls know each other which creates a comfort and ease between them. I love that these two together support each other and never lose their independence and who they are in this relationship but rather they strengthen each other in ways that make them the perfect partner for the other.

I loved this novel and I so highly recommend that you read it. I adore this series and think it is more impactful when read in order. I am so glad I took a chance on this series and cannot wait to explore more of Tilly’s works and I know she is an author who is going to stay on my radar!

Thank you so much to Valentine PR, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
