Leigh Skarin has a lovely way of elevating the fantasy and tingles that make an easy to devour romance! Exposed is a wonderful edition that highlights Skarin’s strengths of focus on the central building of a romantic relationship. Skarin’s writing and tone has a gentle and poetic nature that easily evokes the beauty of falling easily in love. Her writing is built around the couple, who they are, and how the world is affect them as they fall in love. Exposed is a fast paced romance the focuses heavily on the couple and how their trust in each other builds in moments of intimacy, and then once they have built a strong foundation the craziness of the outside world swirls around them as they learn to work together and overcome.
Exposed is Matt and Pepper’s romance. Their story is one of discovery, one of learning how to work and bend with each other, and ultimately trust and support. This novel also has a gentle nature and exploration of what it means to because a father in a quick moment, it is about building a family, and it is about opening up your family to unconditional love. Pepper’s past and her family were never a strong place of support but she believes in love, she believes in creating a safe place and she believes in trusting in the beauty of humanity. The true strength in this novel and its heart lies in Matt and Pepper and how they both discover family in each other and then open their hearts to further potential of expanding their family. There is also a whirlwind layer of suspense that is all outside of the central romance that swiftly piles on top of itself in order to show the reader the strength of Matt and Pepper’s relationship.
Exposed was a quick and easy read, with such an evocative openness around the beauty of falling in love and the heartwarming nature of building a family and network of friends who can support you through the highs and lows of life. Leigh Skarin is a must read for anyone looking for a true escape and loves a solid romance the heavily focused on the romance in the romance suspense genre.
