Samantha Young absolutely shines in this best friend, fake engagement, it’s always been you romance. This second generation series that takes the reader back to Dublin Street, Young’s origin, has been an absolute delight. Young skills as a storyteller, with a clear voice, evocative nature, and beautifully rounded characters are strong pillars and foundations to this stunningly moving romance. Young’s writing has developed beautifully over the years that I know when I open up a novel of hers im going to tumble head first in a journey that is sure to tug on my heartstrings. Young is an author I trust to take me on any journey, and Hart Street Lane is such a lovely story and one that any romance reader will fall head over heels for!
This romance is strengthened by Baird and Maia, best friends who care deeply for the other and support each other. This romance is really Maia’s journey to learn to respect herself and stand up for what she needs and finally seeing Baird for the man he is. Baird is such a charming and flirty hero! I love a man falls first and he fell for Maia from the moment he met her, but he has always taken his cues from where she is in life. When this perfect moment of forced engagement drops in his lap, Baird knows it is finally time to make his move. I loved how Baird constantly shows up, he takes the time for them both to process their feelings, but he never gives up. This romances is sexy and sensual, and the tension and chemistry between these two is off the charts! Young breaths life into this romance and builds feelings through clear actions. Baird and Maia learn to work together, support and cheer for the other, and always show up even when times are hard or feelings are complicated.
Pick up Hart Street Lane if you are ready to fall in love alongside Maia, with a man who will always put you first and be your biggest champion!
Thank you so much to Valentine PR for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
