Stacy Travis's Playing the Field is a lighthearted romp, with the charm of a brother's best friend element and an older heroine. Travis's writing is clear and quickly paced, making this an easy and fast read. Playing the Field is the start in a new soccer romance series, which is a delightful change from your typical hockey or football romance. Travis is one of those author's who always creates a lovely read and does it will solid skills and in her own tone, so if you like a more light and sweet romance then her novels are worth checking out.

This novel while not exactly a new all time favorite, was a charming little escape. I loved that the heroine was the grump and the hero was all sunshine. This novel was fun and sensual, the chemistry between these two is palpable and teased with the forced proximity of sharing space, which is always delightful. I did struggle a bit with the hero in the third act, as he gets in his own way, but is was nice to see the heroine step into herself and fight for their relationship. This novel is one of those quick and fun reads that will entertain in the moment, but might not be an everlasting favorite.

I would recommend this to any soccer romance lover, or lover of Stacy Travis's books. Pick this up for a quick and sexy escape!
