Book Review

Kristen Proby is an author I will always immediately pick up, she is an author I know and trust to taken me on a beautiful discovery of romance. Safe Keeping is the second installment in the Triple Creek Ranch duology and is a wonderful companion to the first. Proby's writing shines in this novel with clarity and heart, her pacing keeps the reader engaged, and her characters a relatable and interesting. Found family is a trope that plays a strong part in a lot of romance novels today and this is no different, a family is forged out of heart and circumstances not by blood, but it does not mean it is any less strong or impactful.
Safe Keeping is a bodyguard romance, with a touch of age gap and forced proximity to drive Gideon and Lena into the perfect environment for love to fully flourish. This grumpy/sunshine romance is a beautiful romance that is built out of love, trust and understanding. Lena has always felt safe with Gideon, she has always been drawn to him, and now four years later, she is no longer a naive young woman, but a strong independent one learning to reach for her dreams. The open skies of Montana have provided Gideon a space to share and build a business, and when Lena comes to stay with him for her protection, she finds a place to grow as an artist and for her soul to find peace. The tension and chemistry between these two is palpable and radiates in every moment. Watching these two fall for the other, stand up and protect each other, and never give up, is the heart of this romance.
I so highly recommend this novel and the first in this series. I will always sing Kristen Proby's praises, and I cannot wait to continue to watch her world expand and grow!
Thank you so much to Kristen Proby, her team, and NetGalley for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
