Salt Kiss by Sierra Simone

Sexy, angsty, complicated and messy are hallmarks of any Sierra Simone novel. Salt Kiss is the beginning to her new series which draws inspiration from the classic tale of Tristan and Isolde. Simone has a way of manipulating a classic story into something that tests the readers understanding on what makes a relationship Simone's writing is rich and beautiful. Her characters are full of depth and layers. There is a push and pull to the relationships as they grow and change and open up to each other. This romance is fully character driven and gives us and in-depth exploration of one of the main players as it is told in first person. This novel is extremely high heat, but in a way that shows the readers how the interactions and power play give the characters the opportunity to be vulnerable and true.

If you love a high heat, character driven romance, than Salt Kiss is a must read. Simone will take you on an emotional rollercoaster, she will make you question what you know and believe, and she will test your morals and understanding of the world around you. Salt Kiss is the beginning of this journey, that will grow and shift throughout the next two installments. There is a prequel novella-Salt in the Wound, which I would highly recommend reading before diving into this novel.

Thank you to Bloom Books and NetGalley for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
