Stealing Hearts is a small town, marriage of convenience with unrequited love and a sexy hard working, single father ranch owner. This newest series from Lex Martin has a little tie back to her last one making it a perfect starting place for new readers as well as providing some character comfort for her seasoned readers as well! Martin's writing has heart and humor, dealing with the complexities of life with grace and care. This novel while dealing with some heavy topics, still has an element of fun and understanding. This is a wonderful novel, full of rich and thriving characters, and the reader will easily leave this novel excited for the next in the series!
This is the romance between Rhett and Paige. Rhett was Paige's late brother's best friend, he is ten years older than Paige, and it has been eight years since they last saw or spoke to each other. They both find themselves at the start of this novel in very uncertain and rough places, and it is hope that they find in each other to make their situations better. Paige has been in love with Rhett since she was young, so through this marriage of convenience she is able to truly see Rhett for the man he is. Rhett is a strong, smart, caring and loving man who has put things in priority, and Paige gives his this opportunity to reevaluate some of these priorities as well as learn to find comfort and strength in a partner. Their romance is truly about growth, respect and understanding someone's dreams. I loved watching Rhett fall for Paige. I loved watching Paige fall for Rhett's boys. I love the brotherly strength and warm welcoming arms that envelop around Paige as she becomes hope for them all.
This novel is equal parts heart warming and steamy! These two physically hit it off the charts. Their chemistry is palpable and a driving force for both of them to take a risk. I love that even though they did not always properly communicate, that they both at heart only wanted to best and success for the other. Lex Martin has truly gifted her readers with this new series and these brothers who are all swoon worthy in their own rights! I can not wait to see with series grow!
