Jewel E. Ann is an author I can trust to take me on a moral rollercoaster that will test everything I think is right and wrong and prove to me that life is messy and not always black and white. I know that in Ann’s hands I will be save on the other side and I will always have a heart full of love and understanding for the journey our hero and heroine must take. The Homemaker is essential Jewel E. Ann at her best. Ann’s writing is engaging and controlled as she takes her readers on this messy journey of feelings, understanding and explores the power of love in various forms and stages.

Alice and Murphy are at this center of this romance, they fell hard for each other in a week of time eight years ago but circumstances tore them apart. Now Alice has an interesting job as a Homemaker for Murphy’s soon to be in laws. Ann explores the strength of love and connect as these two have a hard time staying away from each other. Ann will test their understanding of themselves and their feelings and dreams for their future. Dancing between past and present we see how these two fell and the emotional journey each of them is on in their lives as they learn to rebuild who they are. This novel will take you on a journey of emotions- frustration, heart break, understanding and gratitude. Watching Alice and Murphy learn that they never stopped loving each other is at times hard and bittersweet. These two have to learn to fight for what they truly need in order to move forward in themselves and with the people around them. Ann shows us love is messy, heartbreaking and at times unkind, but always something worth fight and striving for.

The Homemaker is a novel that really shows Ann’s talents in a clear and open way. The Homemaker is a must read in my eyes. Jewel E. Ann is a must read author to me especially if you thrive in the gray area and don’t mind the heavy emotional and angsty journey you will go on for the deep and gratifying peace of love.
