This charming and fast paced small town romance is a lovely blend of football/sports romance and second chance romance. Piper Rayne's newest series is sure to be a lovely small town, family driven romance. Their tone is conversational and easy to engage with, the pacing of this novel is quick, the characters are interesting and deserving of their happily ever afters! I always find Piper Rayne to be a lovely read and a perfect escape from daily life.

The One I Left Behind is the story of high school sweethearts getting their second chance fourteen years later. This novel has all the small town rumors, a son whose parentage is questioned, and two people who still love each other even if they are angry and embarrassed. This novel really focuses on the second chance, learning to better communicate and trust each other, and to work with each other as actual partners. I found this romance to be deliciously sweet, the tension of feelings ramps up perfectly and when they finally decide to get their second chance the explosion of feelings is beautiful and heartwarming.

I would definitely recommend this novel to any Piper Rayne fan! This novel is sure to delight and this series is looking to be a delightful small town family romance!
