I want to be in Windy Harbor! Willow Aster has a beautiful way of crafting a romance series that builds from past ones and centers around a new family! Aster’s ever expanding universe is one I want to languish in, and this series is proving to be another beautifully developed one. Aster brings the small town charm, a boisterous and loving family, and the healing and relaxing nature of a seaside escape. Aster’s writing is banter filled, delightfully paced, with a balanced tone that does not shy away from the sadness or happiness of life. What it Takes is the second installment in this family focus series that has the charming interconnect of building a vacation resort that is family owned and run.
This is Camden and Julianna’s romance. They are two matching souls who have always been drawn to the other but have let others guide and distance themselves from becoming something deeper. They met when they were kids and they are best friends to each other’s siblings, but they have always been a missing piece to the other. Aster takes the reader in this journey that uses past insights to meet Camden and Julianna where they are in the present moment to give the reader a deeper understanding on where moments in their life have pushed or pulled them apart. This romance is truly about taking a chance in the unknown and striving for the dream they have always wanted. Watching these two rediscover misunderstandings and fall into the other is sensual and romantic. Their relationship is driven but banter and testing the other, it is enriched through a shared love for food, and it is strengthened by respect and understanding. Camden and Julianna are truly magical together and seeing them embrace the love they have always had for the other is equal parts cathartic and healing.
Willow Aster is always a must read author for me and this new series is worthy picking up and falling in love with!
