From the very start of this series I have been anticipating Bowie’s and his daughter, Becca’s romance! I knew that Willow Aster was gonna tug hard at my heartstrings for this one. Wicked Love is a stunningly beautiful fourth installment in the Single Dad’s Playbook series! Aster outdoes herself with this poignant and caring romance. Aster has a lovely level of care, understanding and representation around Downes Syndrome and Becca shines as the heart and soul of this novel. Aster’s writing is open and welcoming, her characters are complex and interesting, and this romance is truly about the building of a new family who can rely on the wonderful support system of family and friends.

This single dad, footballer, grumpy/sunshine, surprise baby romance is honestly everything I could have wanted! Poppy and Becca have this charming relationship and respect for the other which is the true start to Bowie taking a second look at Poppy. This romance is tension filled as both Poppy and Bowie are extremely attracted to the other but are dancing around that attraction out of self preservation. But their chemistry is just too strong to resist and they spark fire. Alongside this sizzling tension is the soft respect and trust building of love and a motherly figure to Becca that is the true heart of this story. I love Becca’s beautiful nature, her inquiring mind and her pure heart. I loved the relationship that Becca and Poppy build with the purity of friendship and mother love. I adore that Bowie will always put his daughter first and I love that he sees that Poppy will also do the same. This romance is about dreams coming true, the dream of building a family, the dream of finding a mother, the dream of the future.

Willow Aster is an author who knows how to build a romance with a strong foundation that will make you believe in the beauty of true love. Aster will challenge your emotions and take you on a journey that will leave you full of hope and trusting in a world where we can build a support system around us to catch us if we fall. I loved Wicked Love, I loved that this surprise pregnancy is this beautiful spark that brings life and future to Bowie and Poppy. I love that Poppy falls in love with Becca first. I love that Becca is finally getting her heart’s desire-a mom and a sibling!

I so highly recommend this novel, this series and this author! I have never been lead astray by Willow Aster and I am so excited for the final novel in this series!
