What a beautiful edition to Laura Pavlov’s Magnolia Falls series! Wild River is the second installment in this found family series and it is such a charming and heartwarming expansion of this world. Pavlov’s writing is quick witted, loyalty focused, clear and conversational, and a romance that is worth rooting for! Pavlov’s characters are well drawn and fully dimensional, they are relatable and understanding and provide true heart and depth to the story. This novel can very easily be read as a standalone and works beautifully hand in hand with the first in this series. I love the dynamics of this friend group, I love that they support each other, they are each other’s family and that they welcome romantic partners into their fold with open and warm arms!
Wild River is the romance between River and Ruby. These two know how to butt heads and know the perfect way to get other the others skin. Their relationship proves that the line between love and hate is often a very blurry one. The way these two challenge each other on their path to romance is part of the fun that gives a true gravity to when they fall. The tension between them sizzles at each step until it explodes is a sensual way that makes them both question what is love and what they want out of life. River is such a romantic hero, he comes across as a lighthearted goof ball at times but it is through quiet action that his heart truly shines. As these two fall for the other the way they support each other and want what is best for the other is really charming.
Wild River is a definite must read for any small town, found family fan! Laura Pavlov’s Magnolia Falls series has started off strong and seems to just get better and better, so I am so excited to see the romances of our other brothers!
