Kelly Elliott’s Wilde Cowboy is the first in her new series, Love is a Cowboy. Elliott crafts this cozy small town romance around a soft and gentle love story and the comfort of a strong family unit. Elliott’s writing will envelope you into a big hug and with care and kindness walk you through this story that really focuses on the heroine finding a home where people see and respect her. This novel is a slice of life, gentle story, that proves you can fall in love fast and that love will truly deepen with the care and understanding of the support from those who surround you.

Wilde Cowboy in my opinion is not a how did they fall in love story, but rather what happens after you fall and intertwine your life with someone else and their family. Ladd and Vivienne from chapter one are in a strong and loving relationship and this story is really about the journey of Vivienne falling in love with Ladd’s family and hometown and embracing her dream for the future while overcoming and sharing the hardships of her past. This novel is sweet and supportive, and it is really Vivienne’s journey of inner discovery of her worth and surrounding herself with a family and culture she did not grown up in but one she finds true comfort in. This novel sings in its soft moments and really shines in the moments where Vivienne and Ladd’s mom come together and embrace each other. Ladd is also a lovely hero who is alway on Vivienne’s side.

This novel while not action packed, will still take you on a lovely journey and will fill your heart with warmth. If you are a Kelly Elliott fan or just looking for a soft, cozy, small town romance then Wilde Cowboy might just be the book for you.
