Ashes of You by Catherine Cowles

I honestly don’t have the right words to truly describe how absolutely wonderful Ashes of You and this entire series is! Catherine Cowles has crafted a beautiful and endearing world and family through the Hartley’s in the Lost and Found series. Each book weaves together an epic story of romance between two souls who perfectly complement the other. Cowles writing is a balance of comfort, tension, sweetness and delight. From the first sentence to the last, the reader is swiftly drawn into the story and devouring each word, each moment, each feeling, each touch, until the epic embrace of conclusion. Ashes of You, is the fifth and final book in the familial focused romance series and it is perfection amongst a perfectly structured series.

Through the well loved trope of nanny and boss, Cowles brings to life Hallie and Lawson’s story. It is a story of strength, hope and light. Cowles shows the reader the ways these two provide strength and growth in each other, beautifully building understanding, care and trust. The relationship building that Cowles provides between Hallie and the three Hartley boys (Charlie, Drew and Luke) is another stunning representation of love and trust and understanding that is built between an adult and youth who are looking for a motherly figure. This novel perfectly balances the relationship between Hallie and the boys, the budding romance between Hallie and Lawson, and newly found friendships between Hallie and the other women from the series, and the tension filled intrigue of the suspense.

This novel is truly about Hallie taking full control of her life again after her abduction five years ago (content warnings around Serial Killer and murder and assault of young women) and Lawson learning to forgive himself and open his heart to another woman. I love that this is not only a story of survival, but one of strength found deep with in one’s self and the strength someone else can lend you. The chemistry between Hallie and Lawson is sizzling and sweetness all wrapped up together. Lawson and Hallie both put the other first (as well as the boys) and they find a way to work together as true partners. I love how easily they fold into each other’s lives. I love how Lawson’s family also supports them, roots for them, and is always there no questions asked.

This novel draws this series to such a beautiful conclusion. I have fallen deeper and deeper in love with this family. I have enjoyed watching each member fall in love. I have loved watching them joke together, be there for each other, and always provide insight and help when needed. I can’t wait to revisit them, and I am so looking forward to Catherine Cowles’ next adventure.

Pick up this book now! Pick up this series now! Fall deeply in love with the heartwarming romance, friendships and family that light up every story!

Thank you so much to Catherine Cowles for an eARC, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
