Melanie Harlow absolutely charms and delights in this marriage of convenience romance. Make-Believe Match is the third installment in Harlow's Cherry Tree Harbor series. The growth of this world and the new romances for the Buckley siblings get better and better with each installment. Harlow's humor and grasp of character and building of sensual tension really glows through out this novel. The writing and plotting are clear and easily accessible and hold the perfect Harlow Heart to give the romantic relationship the perfect depth. From the first moment of meeting ,this romance sizzles with a tension that grows into something powerful and strong creating a love that is truly worth rooting for!
Devlin and Lexi are the perfect match for the other. Their chemistry is off the charts from the moment they lock eyes and watching them navigate who they should be to the other is full of the fun and mishaps I have come to expect from a Harlow novel. Weaving together beloved tropes, Harlow is able to leave her stamp on this forced proximity, marriage of convenience, small town, one night stand, only one bed, spicy romance. Not only does Harlow craft a beautiful new romance, but she balances her many series bleeding them together into one lovely universe. If you are fan of Harlow's works you will definitely get the give of continued glimpses into some of your favorite characters, which is an absolute treat!
If you love watching a hero and heroine learn to support and understand each other than this novel is definitely one to check out. These two might start out as strangers but as they enter into an intimate and vulnerable relationship the reader gets the opportunity to watch them grown, mature, and show up for each other. Melanie Harlow is a must read author for me and I just absolutely adore her and would recommend anything she writes!
