Melanie Harlow’s new release is an absolutely fantastic opposites attract romance. The chemistry sizzles off the page! This book is well paced, delightfully written and easily engaging. Harlow's characters feel real, their feeling rooted in reality and watching how they engage with each other so true. Harlow also implements one of my favorite tropes, snowed-in! This trope works perfectly with forced-proximity and only one bed which helps to escalate the chemistry between the hero and heroine.
Gianni and Ellie have known each other forever, their mother's are best friends, and they both have different memories of their youth when it comes to their true feelings. Ellie finds Gianni to be childish and she believes that he is just an annoying inconvenience in her life, believing that he does not truly like her. Gianni has also found Ellie to be intriguing and loves being around her but often defaults to teasing and tormenting then really expressing his feelings. When they find themselves snowed in at a roadside motel, with only one small bed, the underling tension and chemistry between them boils to a breaking point in which their passions explode.
We were teased with Gianni and Ellie's romance in the last novel (Ignite) and there story did not disappoint. I absolutely love that they are forced to really explore their feelings and understanding of each other and that their past might be built on misconceptions. Ellie is a strong and independent and she knows what see wants, I love watching her discover that certain things she believed about Gianni might not be true. Gianni likes to live life large and fast, when he is with Ellie he feels at home and steady and he must learn to embrace what he wants out of life. I really found the chemistry and sensuality of this novel to be amazing and the perfect build up and tension for these two to finally discover the truth about themselves and their true feelings.
What a wonderful new addition to the Cloverleigh Farm’s series, definitely not to be missed if you love this series! Harlow's world is fantastic and I love being back in it and can't wait for more stories!
