If you are a lover of Halloween and Horror Movies, Kresley Cole pays homage to both in the newest Immortals After Dark release. As we creep closer and closer to the ascension, Cole continues to brilliantly weave together the threads that will draw this series to what is sure to be an epic conclusion. Cole's writing flourishes with lush description, brilliant character development, and a spider web of interconnect that links these stories tightly together. The Witch Queen of Halloween is a wonderful edition to the series as a whole as we watch two immortals find their mate, true love and an inner power that makes them stronger and someone that will be a heavy player in the final novels. Cole's mind must truly be a place of great imagination. Her skill is truly unrivaled as she holds all the interworking of this world together. With each IAD novel I fall more and more in love with Cole's writing, world and characters and although it will be bittersweet when we come to its ultimate conclusion, I love watching each new love story and remembers the ones that have come before it.
This novel is a forced proximity one between a witch and a demon. At the center of this second chance romance is a swoon worthy demon who will do anything to keep his mate safe and happy, even if that means he can not be a part of her life. These two are trapped in a haunted mansion with the hopes of breaking a curse and as they learn to fight and battle along side each other, they find their true strength lies in their love for the other. Weaving together well know horror movie villains, Cole creates a tension and creepiness that drive the pace of this story swiftly to its conclusion. The chemistry between these two ramps up and finally boils over at they are put through multiple life treating tests. This novel beautifully balances a sexy romance, heart pounding worry and a endearing love story.
Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark world is one to truly be savored and celebrated. If you have loved the other installments in this world don't hesitate reading this one. If you have always wanted to get into these world take the time now to do it, I don't think you will be disappointed! The Witch Queen of Halloween is a delightfully delicious broadening of this world and it has left be so excited to continue to watch this world grow!
